The volume will presented, with the collaboration of Biblioteca Innocenti Library A. C. Moro, on the occasion of the international meeting: Diventare genitori adottivi sufficientemente buoni. Dallo studio di coppia alle specificità interculturali, organised by Istituto degli Innocenti on behalf of Commissione per le Adozioni Internazionali.
This book shows how changes in social and sexual mores in Western countries over the last three decades have decreased the number of babies born and adoptable, thus creating a new state of adoption for adoptive children and parents in North America.
Welcome by Antonella Schena, Director of the Biblioteca Innocenti Library, and by Daniela Bacchetta, Vicepresident of the Commissione per le adozioni internazionali. Marco Chistolini, editor of the italian edition, David M. Brodzinsky e Jesús Palacios, will be present. Chairman: Giorgio Macario.

The event is organized on the occasion of the launch of the new Storage Archive of the Istituto degli Innocenti. Works on documentation system of the Istituto, on the reorganization of the Archive and on the Archival Superintendance will be presented.

Symposium: PERCEIVING CHILDREN - the Visual Anthropolgy of Childhood
From August 28 to 29 The Innocenti Library will partecipate to the Symposium PERCEIVING CHILDREN - the Visual Anthropolgy of Childhood organized within the 30th NAFA International Festival of Ethnographic Film. The Symposium will be held at Moesgard Museum in Aahrus, Denmark. The Symposium will explore issues linked to the representation of childhood in the media, anthropology, museum and how children perceive themselves and their peers.
The Library will present activities related to the knowledge of the
condition of childhood and in particular the activities concerning the documentation on cinema and the media.

Seminar: GENTLE JUSTICE: PROPOSALS, PROBLEMS, IDEAS
The event is organized by the Biblioteca Innocenti Library Alfredo Carlo Moro, the Istituto degli Innocenti and the University of Florence, Department of Comparative and Criminal Law and Department of private and procedural law.
The seminar is part of a series of meetings devoted to the issue: Mediation and Families: Comparing Experience.
During the event, the book of Franco Occhiogrosso “Manifesto per una giustizia mite”, printed by Franco Angeli in 2009, will be presented.

On the occasion of the Seminar on early childhood education and care (ECEC) services and promotion of social inclusion organized by the European Network of National Observatories on Childhood (ChildONEurope), the Biblioteca Innocenti Library Alfredo Carlo Moro presents on its website a new section dedicated to a Virtual Reference Desk, where the main information resources available online on the theme of early childhood education and care can be found. To facilitate the access the information are divided into national and international contexts and in each context they are ordered by subject.

Dedication of Biblioteca Innocenti Library to Alfredo Carlo Moro
On the 24th November 2009 Biblioteca Innocenti Library has been dedicated to Alfredo Carlo Moro, scholar, Juvenile Judge and president of the National Childhood and Adolescence Documentation and Analysis Centre who greatly contributed to the affirmation of children's rights in Italy and enthusiastically encouraged the cretation of the Library. On the occasion of the cerimony was organized a discussion on the issue of: "The rights of children and adolescents 20 years after the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child" ( pdf programme)
